I’m a Nottingham fashion stylist — here’s what to wear this autumn and winter
From suede to stripes, Bee Newham shares her top seasonal picks...
The weather has taken a chillier turn, which means you might be assessing what’s in your wardrobe for the cooler seasons ahead. If you’re looking for on-trend refreshes, Nottingham-based fashion stylist Bee Newham has sought out a range of stylish looks, as well as where to shop them from.
She has styled celebs, runways, and even models for international photo shoots. However, she especially loves to dress regular modern women and men who often feel overwhelmed with fashion.
If shopping is one of your favourite things to do in Nottingham, Bee has put together her top autumn and winter picks. To find out more about her, you can subscribe to her Substack.

5 trends to shop in Nottingham this autumn and winter

After a slow and relaxing summer, September has inevitably arrived with a bang. As a fashion stylist, I have always felt that this month feels more like a new year than January. With the weather changing, children going back to school, and routines starting again, there is definitely a shift during this month.
Apart from spring, this is also my busiest time as a fashion stylist. I have had clients booked in for months, wanting to review their wardrobes for the season ahead with my wardrobe edit service.
During these sessions, we put together outfits, review wardrobe gaps, and discuss how we can transition their favourite summer pieces into the cooler months ahead. After the session, I create personal style guides for every client. These feature exciting new buys to update their wardrobes and to keep it looking modern and fresh.
I love doing this in September as the stores are full of their best autumn pieces. I always tell my clients not to wait around when purchasing, as autumn pieces often sell out quickly. Also it won’t be long before sequins dominate the stores, so I encourage clients to make the most of the new season drop.
This season, there is something for everyone. From suede to faux fur, here are my favourite trends for autumn/winter 2025.
1. Chic suede
One of the best things about autumn fashion is that trends come back around year after year. If you invest in a key piece once, you will have it for years to come.
We started to see the suede jacket resurgence back in 2023, thanks to the Prada autumn/winter show. Since then, this jacket has dominated the catwalk and high street alike.
This season, Zara has some great suede jackets. I love this longline chestnut brown version. Pair it with your favourite straight jeans and loafers for a polished off-duty look.
If this seems too structured, then this bomber version (also from Zara) is a great way to wear suede casually. The jacket comes in both a charcoal and a taupe colourway.
Suede is also a big trend in menswear. For example, this Zara navy over-shirt version will go with so many other autumnal colours like khaki and chocolate brown.
Suede is also great to pick up vintage. I recommend checking out Glass Onion Vintage, Cow and Wild Clothing for any preloved suede pieces.
Finally, suede will only last for years if you protect it properly. I encourage all my clients to have a bottle of Scotchgard Suede & Nubuck Protector (available from Amazon) on hand during the autumn/winter months!
2. Earning your stripes
I spoke about stripes in my previous spring/summer fashion feature, and the good news is they aren’t going anywhere for autumn/winter. Instead of your typical preppy Breton stripe, this season is all about bold and colourful stripes.
This clean cut regular t-shirt from Cos is the perfect transitional piece. If you are looking for something thicker, this Reformation cashmere boyfriend sweater is high on my autumn wish list. Finally, this Whistles striped crewneck jumper (available from John Lewis) is also the perfect colour for autumn. Bold and colourful stripes are a great way to update your autumn wardrobe for this season.
Stripes are also big for menswear fashion too. The ombre pattern on this striped polo jumper from Marks and Spencer features gorgeous autumnal shades, and will pair well with black trousers, Chelsea boots, and a trench coat.
3. Walking on the wild side
As much as I prefer dressing for the warmer months, I am quite excited about pulling out my animal print pieces for autumn. From leopard to snake to cow print, this season anything goes. On the runway, Saint Laurent went full throttle with leopard print on tops and pencil skirts, whilst Khaite gave subtle nods to snake print through their shoes and accessories.
On the high street, it’s no different, and there’s so much to choose from. If wearing head-to-toe animal print seems too daunting, just start off with a subtle nod to the trend through your accessories. These capped-toe snakeprint boots from John Lewis would look striking with an all black outfit.
If you want a bolder take on the trend, try this leather animal print shoulder bag from Marks and Spencer. I would pair this with some loose denim, a brown suede jacket, and some pointed heeled boots.

4. Falling for faux fur
Following on from animal print, we will see the rise in popularity of faux fur. It’s been absent for a couple of years, but with designers like Michael Kors and Gucci showcasing it on their runways, the fabric is back in a big way.
We are seeing the fluffy texture on everything from coats to handbags. Again, this is another trend that I would look for pre-loved. I would check out White Rose and Hopkinson for any faux fur pieces.
Want to buy something new? I adore this chic belted faux fur coat from H&M. Or if you want a more subtle take on the trend, try this faux fur clutch bag (also from H&M).
5. Belts and braces
Finally, the accessory of the season will be the humble belt. This might seem a bit boring, but this season the belt is coming in all shapes and sizes. From studded belts to double belting, it’s an easy way to dress up any outfit.
When buying a belt, look for leather over a PU fabric, as it will last longer. If you are buying your first belt, always match the hardware to the metal you prefer to wear. I would ideally match it to your jewellery or the hardware on the handbags you carry. Once you have the basic style covered, you can have some fun with different styles.
This multi ring belt from Next looks really premium. I also always recommend Cos belts to my clients, as the quality and price point is really good. I love this moc croc one in chocolate brown.
Zara also has some great menswear options. This sleek western inspired belt and this classic brown leather belt would be such a staple in anyone’s wardrobe.
I hope this gives you lots of inspiration for the season ahead. Chances are you already have items similar to these in your wardrobe already. But if you need any extra styling help, please get in touch.
