2. Ink and Watercolour Diorama Workshop
When: March 28
Where: The Park Bistro, Beeston
How much: £35pp
Talented artist Sarah Sutton creates beautiful house and venue portraits — and she'll be teaching you how to do the same, with a clever 3D element and watercolour techniques. All the materials needed are included in the price, as are a glass of prosecco, wine, or lager and a scone. You could either go by yourself to create a gift for your mum or even go together. If you can't make this event in Beeston, Sarah is hosting the same event at The Rainbow Room in Castle Donington on March 22.
Do if: Your mum has an artistic flair.
3. Motherhood at Belvoir
When: March 29-May 11
Where: Belvoir Castle, Grantham
How much: Included with castle ticket (£23.40pp adult, £9pp child)
This is a little outside of Nottinghamshire, but it has an NG postcode and is a stunning location, so we’re including it. Belvoir Castle has an amazing history — and the mothers who have made it so great are an important part of this. The Motherhood exhibition will showcase their legacy through artworks and photographs. After seeing this, you can wander around the beautiful castle grounds and enjoy a spot of afternoon tea in the Balloon Bar.
Do if: You want to make your mum feel like royalty.
4. Mother’s Day Crafts
When: March 29
Where: Stonebridge City Farm, Nottingham
How much: £1pp
Have you got little ones who would love to make a card for their mum? This crafting event is a great day out with the kids, as not only will they get to get creative, but the whole family can stroll around and see Stonebridge's adorable animals. This event is just £1pp, but the farm does welcome donations if you'd like to give a little more.
