1. White Rabbit Teahouse

Head down the rabbit hole and find these quaint little teahouses that are both away from the hustle and bustle of town. Both venues serve up scones, cakes, and tea on beautiful China pottery, as well as offering unlimited tea and coffee. If you’re heading down at lunchtime, you can also book the brunch high tea, which has a delicious selection of breakfast specialities. I also like the fact you can choose to sit either inside the pretty interior or lounge outside on warmer days.
Do if: You’re looking for a cosy and cute afternoon tea experience.
2. The Pudding Pantry
Where: Trinity Square, NG1 4AF, Mansfield Road, Sherwood, NG5 2JN, and High Road, Beeston, NG9 2LE

This is one of our favourite breakfast places in Nottingham, but it’s also a fab place for afternoon tea. When it comes to afternoon tea, it puts a modern twist on the regular fare, with all the carefully crafted cakes, rolls, and wraps being presented on a gorgeous birdcage-style tray that’s seriously Insta-worthy. You can either dine in or take yours away if you’re having a party at home.

3. Josephine’s
Where: Upper Parliament Street, NG1 2AB

Offering a traditional experience with a vintage touch, Josephine’s is the perfect place to enjoy an elegant afternoon tea before walking over to the theatre or indulging in some city centre shopping. On arrival to the afternoon tea, guests are presented with fruity fizz and canapés, before being served with sandwiches with the crusts cut off, freshly made scones, and patisserie cakes. There are also over 30 different tea varieties to choose from, including Josephine’s own breakfast blend, Earl Grey, fruit teas, and herbal teas.

4. Colwick Hall

With its Georgian architecture and over fifty acres of scenic grounds, Colwick Hall provides the perfect Bridgerton-style afternoon tea experience. Inside the grand estate, you’ll be able to find elegant furniture and chic décor that will get you in the afternoon tea mood before you even take a sip or bite. Guests can delve into a wide selection of finger sandwiches, chef’s savouries, and a selection of cakes and desserts. Once you’re done, you can enjoy a picturesque walk around the historic grounds once owned by the romantic poet Lord Byron or slip onto the path to Colwick Country Park, which is one of our top beauty spots in Notts.

5. The Hockley Arts Club

Nestled behind the busy streets of Nottingham is this quirky bar, with each room holding its own theme. One has an art deco vibe with fun accessories and wall décor, while the room further up has blossom trees with an ambient glow. The vintage one is where the teas normally happen, which you can lounge in while tucking into warm pastries, sandwiches, and sweet nibbles like cheesecake and macarons. You can also upgrade, either going for the afternoon tea with welcome fizz and a peach iced tea cocktail or by going for the bottomless option with unlimited prosecco for 90 minutes. The afternoon tea is only available on Saturdays here, so if this sounds like your perfect place, it’s worth planning well in advance.
