6 of the best pancake places in Nottingham
By Eve Smallman
1. The Pudding Pantry
Where: Trinity Square, Nottingham, High Street, Beeston, Mansfield Road, Sherwood
When: Pancakes served all day
When we asked our readers for their top pancake places around Nottingham, The Pudding Pantry came out on top as the venue of choice. It has a special puddings and pancakes menu with fully loaded pancakes such as red velvet brownie, cornflake tart, and even build your own. For those sharing with friends, you can also try the pancake platter, which comes with eight pancakes and tons of toppings. It also currently has special Pancake Day specials on offer, including spicy BBQ sticky chicken, hoisin duck, and Kinder.
Do if: You want all the options.
2. Warsaw Diner
Where: Derby Road, Nottingham
When: Pancakes served all day
One of the best hidden gem breakfast spots in Nottingham, Warsaw Diner offers a cool American-style diner experience. Slide inside one of the booths and tuck into a stack of fluffy pancakes, which come with a dusting of icing sugar on and surrounded by fruit (for those who want to get their vitamins in!). They do the same thing in waffle form, FYI. You can also get pancakes on its South Fork or Empire State breakfasts — complete with bottomless coffee or tea.
Do if: You want a fun dining experience as well as fabulous food.
3. Portello Lounge
Where: Central Avenue, West Bridgford
When: Pancakes served all day
Sometimes you just have to keep it classic when it comes to pancake flavours — and Portello Lounge clearly agrees. It serves just two different topping options — either go for a decadent combo of blueberries, berry compote and maple mascarpone or simplicity with smoked streaky bacon and maple syrup. It also has extensive gluten-free and vegan menus (but these do not include pancakes).
Do if: You’re looking for a quick city centre getaway — you can either stroll here from the city centre or catch the bus from the train station.
4. Bill’s
Where: Queen Street, Nottingham
When: Pancakes served until 11.30am
At this chic restaurant, you can either go for a stack of three or a stack of five. From here, you can choose to have yours topped with either fruit, bacon, and Biscoff. All of these come topped with delicious pancake syrup. There are also vegan pancakes topped with fruit. Elsewhere on the breakfast menu, there is full Englishes, eggs with hollandaise sauce, and avocado on toast — so there’s something for everyone.
Do if: You want a crowd-pleasing pancake spot you can easily find — even before you’ve had a coffee.
Pancake Day 2025 deals in Nottingham
Want to grab a bargain or a fun, limited time treat? These eateries are all offering Pancake Day deals. I’ll update this section with more offers as they’re announced closer to the time.
5. BEAR
Where: Carlton Street, Nottingham
When: Pancakes served until 5pm, specials until March 9
Sat within the vibrant area of Hockley, BEAR is a relaxed and cosy venue, with a menu to match. On the regular menu, there are chicken and bacon pancakes and apple and blackberry pancakes. You can also get extra bacon on the side if you need. The rest of the brunch menu is also filled with favourites like house breakfasts, Turkish eggs, and the Angry Mac. If you do arrive before 10am Monday-Friday, you can get a free coffee with your meal.
On the specials menu, the pancakes are seriously varied. Those who love sugary treats can try the caramel Biscoff stack and the churros stack. More into salty goodness? The spicy chicken stack with sriracha and the all-American stack complete with eggs and tater tots also sound major.
Do if: You’d like to go somewhere that offers Instagrammable brunch vibes.
6. The Blind Rabbit
Where: Weekday Cross, Nottingham
When: March 4
Every year, The Blind Rabbit hosts all you can eat pancakes for just one day. Yes, you read that right. For an hour and a half, you’ll be able to feast on as many fluffy pancakes as you can, for £10.95pp. There is limited availability, so make sure to book if you want to get in on this, as it normally sells out. The NYC-style bar also has a brilliant cocktail menu, with 2-4-1 all day every day.
Do if: You’re looking to celebrate Pancake Day itself in true style.
Pancake Tea Lock-In
Where: Bird and Blend, Nottingham
When: March 4
You might be reading this and thinking pancakes aren’t tea… right? Well, Bird and Blend is hosting a pancake lock-in, with drinks made from its pancake teas and pancake matcha. The event is £15pp and you get £10 to spend in-store included in your ticket, making it a real bargain.
Do if: You like pancakes but don’t want to eat a full plate of them
