Notts Going On: Foodie finds and Nottinghamshire Day
Have a Taste of Nottingham, see a Bunny Mansion, and enjoy bank holiday fun...
Hello there and welcome to Notts Going On — your weekly round-up of news, events, property, and more in Nottinghamshire.
As you probably know by now, not only do we send this out at the start of the week, but we also put out longer reads towards the end of the week. One of the things I really set out to do when founding The Notts Edit is publishing quality, well-researched pieces that showcase the best of the area. They’re pieces that take time (which journalists often don’t get nowadays), but I hope you’ll all agree that they’re better for this.
I especially love speaking with local people that have a real passion for what they’re doing, which I did for my long-read with iconic Nottingham chef Marcus Lewsley (which you can find below). I’m hoping to do more of these big features for the Edit in future, so if you do have a business or project that you think would work for us, do drop me a line at editor@thenottsedit.com.
If you like what we’re doing, please share us with your friends, family, work colleagues, or anyone else that might find us useful. The more people that know about us, the more we can reach.
And, if you’re new to The Notts Edit, you can subscribe to get our articles in your inbox. It’s free and super convenient (if I do say so myself).

🤩 Waxing lyrical: West Bridgford’s iconic goalkeeper Mary Earps is making history yet again. She’s going to be the first professional female footballer to have a wax figure of her at Madame Tussauds, which released pictures last Wednesday of its progress so far. Mary told the BBC, “It's a special feeling to be a trailblazer. I think it's something that means a lot to me.” Mary was also awarded an MBE in May for her services to football, so it’s proving to be a very special year for her. bbc.co.uk
⚽ Even stevens: The weekend was filled with footballing drama, with teams from opposite ends of the Football League having hair-raising moments. Nottingham Forest played Bournemouth on Saturday, with midfielder Danilo suffering a ‘horror ankle injury’ just minutes into the game, which ended 1-1. Mansfield Town also drew its game 3-3 against Midlands rivals on Burton Albion on Saturday. Meanwhile, Notts County played Fleetwood Town at home on Sunday, scoring a last-minute equaliser in injury time, leaving the score 2-2.

Hot Property 🏡
Have you ever wanted to own your own literal mansion? You can do that and still live in Nottinghamshire — if you have £1.75m(!) to spare. Bunny Hall Park, which is located in the village of Bunny, has seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, and three spacious floors. It’s fresh and modern throughout, with a kitchen with farmhouse-style units, three airy reception rooms, and even an orangery. My favourite part has to be the garden though, which has a gorgeous rare Redwood tree. The property is marketed by Royston & Lund Estate Agents. rightmove.co.uk
