😋 Eat it up: Looking for a new read? Kushi-ya features in food critic Jay Rayner’s new book Nights Out at Home. It features its pork shoulder dish recipe, along with other delicious dishes like his MasterChef Critics baked chocolate pudding with cherries and his take on the Greggs steak bake. Jay reviewed Kushi-ya for The Observer a couple of years ago and said it was “a blissfully good place.” If you want to check out the Japanese restaurant yourself, you can head down to its new premises on Low Pavement. guardianbookshop.com / @kushi_ya / kushi-ya.co.uk
🎡 The Goose is (almost) loose: The nights are getting darker and darker, which always signals to me that Goose Fair is nearly here. More details have been confirmed for the iconic event, which is running from September 27-October 6. New rides this year include the Hulk – XL Super Trooper, Aerospace, Equinox, and a classic vintage wheel, which will join all the regular crowd favourites. There will also be SEND sessions taking place on Sundays from 12pm-1pm, which will offer a quieter and more relaxed experience. westbridgfordwire.com
⚽ Clean sweep: Nottingham Forest took a historic victory against Liverpool in Saturday’s Premier League action, with a 1-0 victory securing their first win at Anfield since 1959. Callum Husdon-Odoi’s fine finish means the Reds remain unbeaten this season, sitting 7th. Mansfield Town beat League One strugglers Cambridge 2-1 thanks to two Lee Gregory goals, while Notts County came from two down to win 4-2 at Bromley. In ice hockey, the Panthers made it two wins from two at the start of the new season, against Manchester Storm (4-0) and Guildford Flames (4-3).
Hot Property 🏡
For those who love London living but don’t want to deal with the hustle and bustle of the big smoke, this four-bedroom Georgian house is a chic choice. Located in The Park Estate, it spans five floors, has French-style balconies with soaring views, and is beautifully light and airy. I love the cosy brick basement, which is currently a gym but would also be a dreamy den. The house even has a garden, which is amazing considering its location. This is marketed by FHP Living and is listed at a cool £1.1m. rightmove.co.uk
