⛱️ Fun in the sun: Nottingham Beach is back this Wednesday (July 16) and will be open throughout the summer until August 31. Scores on the Doors 🏆
🌳 Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest will play European football in the Europa League rather than the Conference League, following the demotion of FA Cup winners Crystal Palace owing to a breach of UEFA’s rules on multi-club ownership. Forest will enter straight into the League phase and will face the likes of Roma and Porto. Crystal Palace are expected to appeal.
In transfer news, a possible move to Tottenham for Morgan Gibbs-White is expected to drag on through the summer. Tottenham were believed to have scheduled a medical and agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old, but Forest have commenced legal action as they believe a confidentiality clause has been breached. Gibbs-White is yet to return to pre season training after extra time off was granted to international players.
Meanwhile, Anthony Elanga has joined Newcastle in a £55m deal, while 20-year-old Brazilian defender Jair Cunha has joined the club from Botafogo. Forest also kicked off their pre-season with a 0-0 draw at Chesterfield.
🏏 Cricket
Friday's Vitality Blast double header saw the Outlaws ease to a 7-wicket win over Durham, while the Blaze fell to a 10-run defeat to Surrey. The Blaze bounced back on Sunday with a 35-run win over Essex, booking their place at Finals Day which takes place on July 27. Ahead of The Hundred, World Cup winners David Willey and Ash Gardner have been appointed captains of the Trent Rockets.
