The season of fun and sun is in full swing, and there are so many fantastic events in Nottingham this July that will help you soak all this in.
Whether you’re looking for festival vibes, family-friendly fun, or fabulous workshops, there is something for everyone. I’ve narrowed down ten of the best events across the county, picking them based on uniqueness, seasonality, and whether they are good value for money.

1. Summer Wine Tasting
When: July 4
Where: Norwood Park, Southwell
How much: £40pp
The picturesque grounds of Norwood Park are a lovely setting for sipping wines in the sun. Ellie Coleridge from England’s largest vineyard the Silverhand Estate will guide you through tasting five different French and English wines, as well as giving tips and tricks for tasting them properly. You can also add an overnight stay with continental breakfast for two guests for an extra £130.
Do if: You want to up your wine game for summer hosting.
2. Beginners Rug Hooking
When: July 5
Where: Knit Nottingham, Nottingham
How much: £65pp
Make your own handmade homeware or even make a gift for someone else during this rug hooking workshop, where Oksana will teach you all about the art of rug hooking. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll be able to start on your own design, which you can take home with you to finish at your leisure. Equipment, hessian scissors and scrap fabric will all be supplied on the day, as will refreshments.
Do if: You have ever watched rugs being made on socials and found this really satisfying (not just me, right?).
3. Wonderland Festival
When: July 5
Where: Newstead Abbey, Ravenshead
How much: £49.85pp, £95.63pp VIP
Sprinkle on your glitter face paint and pop on your silver go-go boots — this magical festival is all about grooving to disco and house tunes in a dreamy woodland setting. This year’s headliners include Roger Sanchez, Craig Charles, and Gok Wan (because yes, he is a DJ). Special guest Crazy P will also be doing an exclusive DJ set. The VIP upgrade includes a private bar, access to the VIP village, and fast-track entry.
Do if: You would love to spend the day dancing to infectious beats.
4. Torvill and Dean: Our Last Dance
When: July 10-12
Where: Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham
How much: From £53.80pp
Nottingham duo Torvill and Dean are world-renowned for their gold-winning Bolero dance, which is one of the most iconic moments in Winter Olympics history. They’re doing their last-ever performances together right here in the city, finishing beautifully where they started. There is the best availability on Thursday, but there are still seats left on all the other days, including the Saturday night finale.
Do if: Waving goodbye to two local legends sounds like a wonderful event to you.
5. Nottingham Chamber Music Festival
When: July 10-13
Where: Various venues around Nottingham
How much: Mix of free and ticketed events
A variety of the city’s gorgeous historic settings are set to come to life with classical music. Events include Delilah Fine Foods’ 20th anniversary celebration with music, drinks, and canapés (July 10, £45pp), African Pianism at St Peter’s Church (July 12, free entry), and Tunnel Vision at the Grade II listed Park Tunnel (July 13, £10-£12pp). Be sure to check out the full programme, as there is a real mix of music and locations.
Do if: You’d like to be moved by music — there is nothing quite like live, classical music.
6. Nottingham Beach
When: July 16-August 31
Where: Old Market Square, Nottingham
How much: Free entry
Guess what’s back, back again? The sun is out, so it can only be Nottingham Beach time — and as usual, there will be sand, rides, and entertainment. Each day of the week will have something to do, with Monday movie nights, Tuesday salsa, Wednesday volleyball, and live music from Thursday to Sunday. The bar will be Santorini-themed, and there will also be food and drink around the square including gyros, crepes, and slushies.
Do if: You don’t want to have to drive all the way out to Skeggy to get some sand and sun.
7. Splendour Festival
When: July 19-20
Where: Wollaton Park, Nottingham
How much: Day tickets £69pp adult, £49pp youth, free for under 10s, weekend tickets available
After a year’s hiatus, Splendour is returning to Wollaton with a storming line-up. Bloc Party, Jake Bugg, and Natasha Bedingfield are leading the way on Saturday, while Kaiser Chiefs, Travis, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be providing sing-along tunes on Sunday. You’ll also be able to enjoy lots of local acts on The Bodega Stage, Vicky McClure on the new Day Fever dance party stage, and a host of family-friendly entertainment.
Do if: You’d like to go to a festival where you’ll know most of the music but still have plenty of new tunes to discover.
8. Mansfield Town Film Festival
When: July 25-27
Where: Mansfield Palace Theatre
How much: £4pp per session, day pass £10pp, festival pass £25pp
Bringing a mixture of independent films, industry insights, and exciting film moments, this film festival is perfect for anyone interested in film culture. Expect a range of drama, documentaries, shorts, and experimental work, along with Q&As, workshops, and guest panels. With the price of a day pass being the price of just seeing one film at most cinemas, this is also a brilliant budget-friendly event option.
Do if: You want to shake up your watching and support independent filmmakers.
9. Robin Hood Festival
When: July 25-August 25
Where: Sherwood Forest, Edwinstowe
How much: Free entry, films and some activities ticketed, £15 per car parking
Robin Hood has to be the most famous Nottingham export, so it just makes sense that there’s a whole festival revolving around him — and that it lasts for a whole month. Each weekend holds a different event, with Films in the Forest on July 25-27, The Knights Ride In Once More with jousting and medieval activities on August 2-3, and Fantasy in the Greenwood with mystical fun on August 9-10. The grand finale is on August 23-25.
Do if: Getting into the true Nottingham spirit sounds like fun to you.
10. Notts Pride
When: July 26
Where: Around Nottingham city centre
How much: Free entry
This wonderful celebration is for all the LGBTQ+ people and allies in our city and wider county. The day kicks off with the Pride march, which starts at Listergate and ends at Sneinton Market. Here, you’ll find the glam main stage with drag acts like RuPaul’s Drag Race star Rileasa, as well as The Grove’s new relaxed acoustic stage. Meanwhile, Hockley’s Broad Street — aka the original Notts Pride home — will have DJs and dancing.
