Lucy Beaumont: Bad at Quiz Shows, Good with Weirdos 😂

During this special comedy show, BAFTA nominee Lucy Beaumont is delving into her year of spectacular quiz-show mishaps. From accidentally costing a gameshow contestant £79,000 to flopping on Mastermind, from going into hiding after Celebrity Traitors to creating cow-udder couture on The Great British Sewing Bee, she’ll transform these experiences into her signature stand-up. Expect plenty of cringe and all the giggles.
Do if: You have made a mistake recently – this will make you feel better about it.

Rapunzel 🎭

How much: From £10.50pp
Golden-haired Rapunzel is trapped in a tower by a wicked witch, who cuts her beautiful locks and sells them for a tidy profit (eek!). Now it’s time for Rapunzel to take control. This bold adaptation of Bethan Woollvin’s witty twist version of the tale is brought to the stage by Wrongsemble in a theatrical adventure brimming full of music and magic. It’s 45 minutes long with no interval – so bear this in mind if going with little ones.

Hot Property 🏡
A colourful mansion with oodles of elegance, this six-bedroom home in Sherwood is uniquely beautiful. Step inside and you’ll find a sitting room with floor-length bay windows, a bright red dining room with lovely detailing, and a modern kitchen with four ovens (what a house for hosting!). Upstairs we really love the bedrooms, which all have their own character. Outside is just as stunning, with the home’s white and red painted exterior making the perfect backdrop for the manicured garden (complete with cow statues that we hope are included in the sale). It’s being marketed by Savills, which is looking for offers over £1.75m. rightmove.co.uk

News 🗞
🛩️ Winner, winner: East Midlands Airport has been declared Airport of the Year at the National Transport Awards. East Midlands Airport’s winning submission was based on a successful year in which passenger numbers were held at around 4m, while the express air cargo operation remained the busiest in the UK. ‘We’re so pleased to be recognised and rewarded in this way on a national stage,’ says Steve Griffiths, managing director of East Midlands Airport. ‘We have a fantastic team, who have earned us this prestigious accolade through their total dedication.’
💸 Extra funds: A project to refurbish Newark Castle is set to receive a £2.5m boost, which will fund works to open up underground spaces including three dungeons. Newark and Sherwood District Council said the additional funding – which is set to be allocated by the East Midlands Combined County Authority – would allow phase two of the project to take place. The authority said the work would open up the castle’s underground spaces and create safer routes into areas that have been ‘largely inaccessible to the public for some time.’ bbc.co.uk
🐶 Pup-tastic: We enjoyed this BBC feature on Danielle Marshall from Worksop, who races her dog Luna and is currently preparing to represent Great Britain in sled dog racing. After picking up Luna as a puppy and looking for new ways to tire her out, she now spends 12 hours every week racing a team around Nottinghamshire’s forests, and is currently preparing to take them to Sweden for the competition. bbc.co.uk
