It’s the first of December, and it’s definitely beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. We went to Wollaton Winter Light Trail (see on Instagram) and It’s in Nottingham’s Christmas Market (also see on Instagram) last week, and are going to Nottingham Playhouse’s panto tonight. So, we’re in the mood for festive fun – but are you?

The concert will last approximately two hours and 40 minutes, including the interval.

A Good Cause 🎁
Nottingham Basket Brigade is bringing joy to people this Christmas — and you can help too
When it comes to Christmas, giving back to the community is a brilliant way to spread cheer this season. One local organisation that is looking for help is Nottingham Basket Brigade.
Hot Property 🏡
The Park has to be one of the most prestigious places to live in Nottingham – and this six bedroom home is a gorgeous choice for residing here. It has a range of elegant rooms, such as the drawing room with bay windows, the open-plan dining room and kitchen (love the electric blue AGA!), and the mini gym complete with a sauna. Despite being so close to the city, it also has an amazingly spacious garden with a paved patio area, sprawling lawns, and a pond with stepping stones. It’s marketed by FHP Living, which is accepting offers over £1.599m. rightmove.co.uk
News 🗞
🎲 Roll the dice: The newly-renewed Nottingham Monopoly went on sale on Friday, 24 years after the original launched. The board features landmarks such as Nottingham Castle and Old Market Square, historic spots like Green’s Windmill and Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, and all three of the city’s sporting stadiums and grounds. If you’d like to pick up a board, it’s available at the Tourism Centre in town, as well as Amazon and Waterstones.
🧀 Mamma mia: Cheese & Pasta Co has opened up a spot in the city centre, serving up fresh pasta out of a giant cheese wheel. Its first branch opened up in Beeston last year, and has proved to be a delicious hit. If you’re looking for an alternative to Winter Wonderland food, it’s conveniently situated opposite Old Market Square.
⚽ It’s coming home?: The City Ground has been included in the UK’s bid to host the Women’s World Cup 2035. The bid outlines plans for 22 stadiums across 16 cities, including 16 venues in England, three in Wales, two in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland. If successful, it will be the largest single-sport event ever staged in the UK and the first World Cup here since 1966. The decision won’t be made for another five years – but fingers crossed! bbc.co.uk
