Valentine’s Day events in Nottingham
1. Valentine’s Movie Night
When: February 13
Where: District Coffee, Nottingham
How much: £22.38pp
Bring your Valentine, Galentine, or Palentine (I think that’s a thing?) to this relaxed film night, complete with everything you need to chill. You’ll be given a snack box each, including popcorn and sweet treats, as well as prosecco or a hot drink to wash it all down with. Then, you’ll kick back and watch noughties rom-com P.S. I Love You. You could even pair this up with a trip to The Good Fellow George (more info on this below), as it’s just over the road.
Do if: You’re looking for a low-key movie night that’s cute and cosy.
2. Valentine’s Paint Your Partner
When: February 14
Where: The Place Activity Centre, Sherwood
How much: £71.13 for two people
Spend an afternoon getting messy and painting your partner – a portrait of their face that is (keeping it tasteful!). Get your creative juices flowing with a welcome drink before gathering the supplied painting tools to create your masterpiece. Then, afterwards, pop into the photoshoot to capture them and compare how accurate/imaginative you were.
Do if: You’d like to have a laugh and create memories that will last for years to come.
3. Chocolate Truffle Making
When: February 14
Where: The Chocolate Kitchen, Retford
How much: £22.05pp
Craft your own chocolate truffles during this delicious workshop, where you’ll be shown how to hand-dip classic and champagne varieties. While they set, you’ll be able to use the extra melted chocolate as fondue (clever!) with brownies, biscuits, strawberries and sweet treats to share, as well as sipping on a hot or cold drink of your choice. Afterwards, take the truffles home to enjoy.
Do if: All of the chocolate is the way to your or your partner’s heart.
4. Partner Yoga and Thai Massage
When: February 14
Where: Bliss Yoga & Wellbeing, Beeston
How much: £38.62pp
Unwind with your partner during this two hour workshop, led by licensed couples therapist Chanel. You’ll learn how to support each other through basic yoga poses, as well as light massage and insights into new intimacy techniques. This is suitable for all abilities, so don’t be worried about not knowing your downward dog from your warrior. The ticket cost also includes a glass of prosecco – perfect for loosening up.
Do if: You’d like to take the time to connect with your partner on a physical level.

5. Cocktails and Crime: Don’t Look Back In Anger
When: February 14
Where: National Justice Museum, Nottingham
How much: £28pp
You’re officially invited to the launch party of his latest and hottest magazine, You Got Judged! by the editor Rex Wright. But the party begins with a shocking discovery – Rex is found dead (eek!). You’ll need to get your detective hat on, interview suspects, and find the clues – with a cocktail or mocktail in hand. This could also be paired with dinner at Pizzamisu (more info down below), which is on the same street.
Do if: You’re looking for an icebreaker, or know you and your partner enjoy interactive dates.
