🏅 Medal win: Bulwell’s own Emily Campbell won bronze at the +81kg weightlifting on the last day of the Olympics. She lifted 126kg during the snatch and 162kg in the clean and jerk, leaving her with a huge total of 288kg. This allowed Team GB to leave Paris with 65 medals, which is one more than they won at Tokyo three years ago. Emily is also the only woman from Team GB’s weightlifting team to have ever scored a podium (with her receiving a silver medal for +87kg at Tokyo) and it’s only the ninth Olympic weightlifting medal GB has ever won. bbc.co.uk
🤘 Raise your horns: Rock and roll fan or not, there is a very special thing happening at Rock City today (Monday August 12).. The ashes of Lemmy, who was the founder, lead singer, and bassist of Motörhead are being brought here, where they’ll be available to see year-round. They’re coming from Derbyshire heavy metal festival Bloodstock, where the bust containing his ashes will return every year. Over 30 bikers on Harley Davidsons will be escorting them to the music venue at around 2.30pm, so if you’ve got time this afternoon to catch the ceremony, it’s well worth doing. facebook.com

As well as having space to chill, there are also lots of free events on, including forest crafts, art workshops, and street performances. ⚽ Teaming up: Two of Notts’ oldest institutions — Notts County and the University of Nottingham — have partnered together to provide a wealth of sport, education and community spirit to the area. Notts County’s first team training base is moving to the David Ross Sports Centre, UoN students will be able to volunteer services to the club, and a mutually beneficial education offering is also being developed. The UoN logo will also appear on the team’s away and third kits this season. Notts County chief executive Joe Palmer said: “The partnership will also see the two organisations come together in our efforts to make real, positive change in Nottingham.” nottingham.ac.uk
