News 🗞
🍬 So sweet: We were sad to see that the man who used to own the legendary cock-on-a-stick stall at Goose Fair has passed away. Ray Brooks, who worked at the stall for more than 70 years, died aged 95 last Wednesday. His son Robin Brooks said he was happy to know his father’s legacy would continue through the stall, which has been at the Goose Fair for more than 100 years. He said the stall, which sells the cockerel-shaped treats, had given him and his father ‘lots of fun and lots of laughs.'’ bbc.co.uk

Nottingham Forest were held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Friday. Forest created plenty of chances after Neco Williams’ first half opener, but could only take a point that leaves them in the relegation places.
🦌 Mansfield Town
Mansfield Town scored seven goals in two games, in the same week that Nigel Clough became the clubs longest serving manager. Michael Smith scored twice in a 3-0 away win over Wimbledon before a thumping 4-1 win at Blackpool. The Stags are 9th in League One.
🐦 Notts County
Notts County moved out of the relegation places after an impressive 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, before a 1-1 draw with high-flying Stockport.
🏒 Ice Hockey
The Nottingham Panthers were beaten 4-2 at home by the Cardiff Devils on the Challenge Cup. After falling 2-0 down, the Panthers took advantage of the power play to level, when a controversial holding penalty saw the Devils retake the lead. The Devils made it four with an empty net goal six seconds from the end of the game.
