Notts Going On

What’s On This Week 🗓️
Christmas Wreath Making Workshop 🎄✂️
When: November 25
Where: Kraft Werks, Sherwood
How much: £49.46pp
Sherwood bottle shop Kraft Werks is hosting this evening of wreath making, which is suitable for everyone, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro. You’ll be provided with all the tools and materials you’ll need, learn plenty of tips and tricks along the way, and leave with something handmade, beautiful, and personal to take home. Festive refreshments and nibbles will also be available at the bar.
Do if: You’re planning on putting your decorations up this weekend – this would be the perfect addition.
Edwalton Wine Tasting 🍷
When: November 26
Where: Holy Rood, Edwalton
How much: £22pp
Join Weavers of Nottingham’s Philip Trease for an evening of wines with Christmas in mind. The parish church setting is a relaxed location, meaning you can unwind and ask questions freely without feeling restricted. Profits from the evening will go to support the West Bridgford & South Notts Debt Centre in their work. If you can’t make this, Weavers’ shop in Nottingham city centre is definitely worth a visit pre-Christmas.
Do if: You’re looking for different festive tipples for seasonal hosting.
Wollaton Winter Light Trail 🎄✨
When: November 26-December 31
Where: Wollaton Park, Nottingham
How much: From £17pp adult, from £12.50pp child and concessions
We’ve very much missed light trails at Wollaton, so we’re excited that the fabulous Wollaton Winter Light Trail is back with a new operator. You can wander through the illuminated gardens, take plenty of Instagrammable pics, and enjoy the immersive features, all while sipping on mulled wine and hot chocolate. We’re visiting this before it opens, so keep an eye out on our socials for a sneaky preview.
Do if: You’d love to go on an enchanting walk – either with family, friends, or even a date.
Christmas Market at Nottingham Castle 🎄🛍️
When: November 28-30
Where: Nottingham Castle
How much: £2pp adult, £1pp child in advance
Over 90 seasonal stalls will be setting up shop at It’s in Nottingham’s sparkling market. Browse food and drink, crafts, homewares, and gifts, as well as taking part in free family-friendly activities and watching magical performances.
There are very limited advance tickets for Saturday and Sunday, but there are plenty still for Friday, so you could go during lunch or after work. After this, limited tickets at Castle admission price and market admission price will be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.
Do if: You’d like to shop locally for your presents.
Sleeping Beauty 🎭
When: November 28-January 17
Where: Nottingham Playhouse
How much: From £17.50pp
See this classic fairytale like you haven’t before, with beautiful costumes, dazzling effects, and lots of laughs. Nottingham Playhouse’s pantos are particularly brilliant, as they are penned by writer and director Adam Penford and contain lots of Nottingham references and recent pop culture references. We thoroughly enjoyed last year’s panto, and are looking forward to this one.
Do if: It isn’t Christmas for you without watching a panto show (oh no it isn’t!).

Hot Property 🏡
A Grade-II listed home with oodles of charm and character? Yes please! This link detached home in Normanton is oh-so-spacious, with five reception rooms, a bespoke farmhouse kitchen with an AGA, five bedrooms, and three bathrooms. It also has exposed beams and exposed brickwork throughout. We’re dreaming about snuggling up by the fireplace (it has a few!) and watching Christmas films in here. It is marketed at £1.25m and it is marketed by Fine & Country. fineandcountry.co.uk
News 🗞
✨ Defying gravity: We’re in the final throws of Wicked fever, and if you’re still under the spell, you’ll love these Wicked-inspired side tables created by Nottinghamshire designer Beaumont Design. The Elphaba and The Glinda are both limited editions, and are £179 each. If you haven’t caught the film yet, Broadway Cinema is showing it until December 4. beaumontdesign.co.uk
🚍 Safe space: A new community project led by It’s in Nottingham is calling on local businesses and residents to help bring a new Nottingham Safe Bus to life. The initiative aims to refurbish a decommissioned bus into a space where trained welfare officers, volunteers, and medical staff can offer first aid, support, and a safe place to rest. Once complete, the Nottingham Safe Bus will operate in the city centre during weekends and major events. crowdfunder.co.uk
⭐ Top quality: Hart’s Hotel & Kitchen has been awarded a César Award 2026 by the Good Hotel Guide. This is described as the “Oscars of hotel-keeping” and is named in honour of legendary hotelier César Ritz. The awards recognise the very best hotels of the year. Hart’s is the only Nottinghamshire hotel on the list. goodhotelguide.com
Scores on the Doors 🏆
🌳 Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest claimed a famous 3-0 win over reigning Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. Murillo, Nicolò Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White all scored as the Reds secured their second win at Anfield in as many trips, something they haven’t done since 1964. A revival under Sean Dyche has lifted Forest out of the bottom three up to 16th in the table.
🦌 Mansfield Town
Three goals inside the first 16 minutes consigned Mansfield Town to a 3-1 home defeat to playoff-chasing Huddersfield Town. Mansfield were thoroughly beaten and could have easily conceded more in a one-sided first half. Will Evans added a consolation goal for Mansfield on a bad afternoon, with the Stags now sitting 13th in League One.
🐦 Notts County
Notts County’s unbeaten run came to an end with a 3-1 defeat to Colchester in League Two. Notts took the lead through an own goal early on but couldn’t capitalise, with the visitors equalising 7 minutes later. Two further second-half goals for Colchester secured the win, and Notts remain in the playoff places in 5th place.
🏒 Nottingham Panthers
The Nottingham Panthers made it a four-point weekend in the Elite League, with a 4-3 shootout win over rivals Sheffield Steelers and a 4-3 win over Dundee Stars. However, the real highlight of the week was Mitch Fossier’s genuinely brilliant cover of Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club at Ollie Betteridge’s testimonial (watch it on Instagram), which, after last week’s hat trick, shows that there is genuinely nothing the man can’t do on ice.
🏏 Nottinghamshire at The Ashes
Ben Duckett scored 21 and 28 in England’s miserable display in the opening Ashes test in Perth, with Australia racing to an eight-wicket win inside two days. Josh Tongue didn’t feature for the tourists.
