Jake Bugg is back, a bright Victorian home, and a Robbie Williams tribute act...
Hello there and welcome to Notts Going On! This edition is absolutely crammed full of news, events, property, food and drink, and more.
Mondays are certainly made a lot easier with the knowledge the next one is a Bank Holiday. Four day week, here we come. Because of this, NGO will be back on Tuesday.
But, for now, grab your cup of coffee and get stuck in. And if you want to keep mine full, you can do so on Ko-fi.

News 🗞️
🗳️ Not out: Ben Bradley came through a vote of no confidence on Thursday, following his candidacy for East Midlands Mayor. The Independent Alliance claimed he was too focused on his Mayoral campaign, telling Notts TV he “let down both the people of his constituency and the whole of Nottinghamshire.” It is worth noting that this was a symbolic vote designed to put pressure on Bradley, and wouldn't have actually got him out of office. nottstv.com
🎶 Got the Bugg: Clifton’s Jake Bugg released a new single called Zombieland on Friday, which is all about the struggles of the daily grind and is a total toe-tapper. The video was filmed in Nottingham and was directed and produced by Rachael Halaburda, who is locally based. As well as this, he has also announced a new album called A Modern Day Distraction, which will be released on September 20. youtube.com
🎡 The goose is loose: The iconic Goose Fair is returning for 10 days again this year. This is the third year in a row it will run for this many days, starting from September 27 until October 6. Basically, there is no excuse not to get yourself down to Forest Rec and grab a pot of musheh peas and mint sauces.
💐 A class act: If you've been swooning over Bridgerton as much as we have, you might have wondered if anyone from the area is in it. Nottingham's own Harriet Cains plays Philippa Featherington, who is the sister of this season's star Penelope Featherington. She trained at The Television Workshop, which has also helped create stars like Vicky McClure, Bella Ramsey, and Samantha Morton, to name but a few. radiotimes.com
😍 Dream house: This isn't exactly news, but I couldn't help shouting out this gorgeous feature on a Nottingham Victorian flat in House Beautiful. Jodie Hazlewood, also known as @thehouseupstairs, renovated it with her husband over a 9-month period and transformed it completely. It's a maximalist dream and will want to make your home over immediately. housebeautiful.com
Hot Property 🏡
I can’t quite believe that this property is in Nottingham, but I checked and it’s definitely in Mapperley Park. Inside is bright, spacious, and stylish, with four reception rooms, five bedrooms, and three bathrooms. The best part has to be the gorgeous Amdega conservatory which looks like an amazing place to lounge and relax. This opens up to a large garden with its own orangery. It is marketed by HoldenCopley and is looking at offers in the region of £975k. rightmove.co.uk

Have you ever played a round of Cluedo and wondered what it would be like as a play? Me neither, but I’m intrigued nonetheless. Just like the board game, the show is a classic whodunnit with murder, mystery, and secret passageways. The reigning champion of Strictly Ellie Leach will be making her acting debut as Miss Scarlett, while Casualty and Heartbeat’s Jason Durr will be playing Colonel Mustard.

Southwell Minster is a stunning venue, which will be made all the more atmospheric by the Nottingham Harmonic Choir. Robbie Williams Tribute 🎶

You probably know that Take That will be headlining the City Ground — but let’s be honest, Robbie was the real star of the band. While he won’t be in Notts, tribute act Dan Budd will be and will perform an hour-long set of Take That and Robbie Williams favourites. As well as this, there will be a DJ playing 90s/00s hits to get you warmed up beforehand. There will be food and drink stalls, and tickets for this also include a voucher for a drink.
