Holme Pierrepont is a beautiful spot to walk anyway, but this Saturday evening it’s transforming into a romantic retreat that’s giving all the Tangled vibes. You’ll be given a water lantern that you can write a message on, which you can then let go. As well as this, you’ll also be able to listen to live music and tuck into street food from local vendors. Nottingham pub crawl — the ultimate route for drinking around the city
Whether you’re hanging out with friends or celebrating a special occasion, you just can’t beat going on a Nottingham pub crawl.
Hot Property 🏡
Selling Sunset? More like Selling Nottinghamshire! This five-bedroom home in Edwalton is oh-so-luxe, with so many modern features and amenities. These include the open-plan kitchen and dining room with sleek units, the heated swimming pool with mood lighting, and a home office with space for a bar and games tables. Plus, each bedroom has its own en-suite, and there are six bathrooms total in the house, so no arguments here. The guide price is a cool £2m and the house is marketed by HoldenCopley. rightmove.co.uk
News 🗞
🔒 Lock ‘em up: Have you placed a love lock on Wilford Suspension Bridge? You have eight weeks to remove yours, as Severn Trent has said the weight of the locks are affecting the bridge’s integrity. A spokesperson for the water company said, “Everyone can be rest assured the locks that are removed will be well looked after, and we're in the early stages of talking with a local business to create something special to honour their lovely meaning.” bbc.co.uk
🍛 How spicy: The winners of the English Curry Awards were announced last week, with the competition recognising the best places in each English region, as well as one overall national champion. In Nottingham, Anoki was named as the city’s winner, while in the Midlands, Everest Lounge in Market Harborough was named the regional champ. Agree or disagree? We quite like Kayal and Calcutta Club for sit-down meals, and Bombay Deli for on-the-go snacks. timeout.com
Scores on the Doors 🏆
🌳 Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest opened their Premier League campaign with a 3-1 win over Brentford at the City Ground, with Chris Wood scoring twice either side of a Dan Ndoye strike. The Reds have also completed the signing of Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich and James McAtee from Manchester City to bolster their attacking options.
🦌 Mansfield Town
Mansfield Town secured two wins last week, firstly with a 2-0 EFL Cup win over Chesterfield that set up a second round tie away at Premier League Everton. The Stags then followed this up with a 2-1 win over Exeter, with a late Will Evans goal securing their first League One win of the season.
🐦 Notts County
Notts County are winless in four games, having lost their EFL Cup tie to Wigan Athletic before a dramatic loss to Barrow. Notts were 1-0 down in the closing stages before Matty Dennis scored to equalise, but Lewis Shipley scored in the seventh minute of injury time to secure the points for Barrow.
🏏 Cricket
Nottinghamshire sit 4th in the One Day Cup standings, with a Jack Haynes batting masterclass (124 from 103 balls) leading them to a seven-wicket win over Glamorgan. In the Hundred, the Trent Rockets men beat the Southern Brave but lost to London Spirit, while the women beat London Spirt and lost to the Brave.
