🍂 Milling around: Green’s Windmill in Sneinton is closing for a year of repair works, in order to bring it back to full working use. The work is scheduled to begin on the windmill from November 3, but the science centre and garden will remain open between 10am-4pm from Wednesday to Sunday each week. Need some local flour in the meantime? Check out our piece on the Nottingham Mill Co-op, which mills flour in Sneinton Market. bbc.co.uk
📜 Remarkable history: Champion for Sherwood Forest Richard Townsley is encouraging people living on land inside the forest’s medieval boundaries to purchase plaques to remind them of its history. He believes this includes between 40 and 50 communities, ranging from the suburbs of Nottingham to villages like Skegby and Edwinstowe in the north of Nottinghamshire. The boundaries he would use are based on the medieval forest, which covered much of Nottinghamshire north of the River Trent. bbc.co.uk

Mansfield Town and Notts County both had games postponed due to several squad members being called up for international duty.
