Cheese and Wine Evening 🍽️
When: September 11
Where: Sherwood Forest, Edwinstowe
How much: £36pp
Dive into one of the most delightful food and drink pairings, all while watching the sun set over the iconic Sherwood Forest. Ben from the Lincoln Wine School will share secrets from some of the UK’s finest wines and cheeses, as well as explaining how these producers are creating sustainable vineyards and dairies.
Do if: You’re looking for a romantic date idea to spice up the week with.
Squeaky Blunders Murder Mystery 🔎
When: September 13
Where: Kelham Hall, Newark
How much: £60pp
Step into the shadows of 1919 Birmingham and immerse yourself in this murder mystery like no other. Prepare to interrogate suspects, uncover secrets, and solve the case, along with the help of live performers. You’ll also be treated to a three-course meal to help fuel you up for cracking the case.

England Men V South Africa T20 🏏
When: September 14
Where: Trent Bridge, West Bridgford
How much: From £55pp adult, £30pp under 21s, £20pp juniors
Returning to the cricket ground where they regularly break records, the England white ball team is playing South Africa in this T20 that has already seen plenty of action. In the last game, England got a record 342-run win over South Africa, with Jacob Bethell hitting his first hundred and Jofra Archer taking four wickets. Very limited tickets remain.
Do if: You’re not ready to let go of the cricket season just yet.
Nottingham Green Festival 🌳
When: September 14
Where: The Arboretum, Nottingham
How much: Free entry
This family-friendly event is all about sharing skills and knowledge to tackle environmental concerns, as well as providing fun activities. There will be live music from local artists, a family zone, craft stalls, and cookery demos. The Knowledge Garden will also be hosting discussions about climate change and biodiversity.
Do if: You’re looking for something different yet thought-provoking to do this weekend.
Your Local Farmers and Produce Market 🛍️

Where: Rufford Abbey Country Park, Ollerton
How much: Free entry, parking charges apply
Spend a wholesome day browsing and buying a range of beautiful seasonal produce and local makes at this brand-new market. As well as fruit and veg, there will be artisanal cheeses, breads, meats, and sweet treats. Plus, you can pick up handcrafted gifts and rural-inspired crafts to decorate with and gift.

🍽️ Stylish dining: Excited about The Ivy Nottingham Brasserie opening? More details have been announced about the restaurant, which is due to open in October. Accommodating up to 118 guests, the Brasserie will feature a stylish terrace area, as well as two private dining rooms seating 10 and 26 guests respectively. It will also create 109 new local jobs and has exciting plans to collaborate with some of Nottingham’s talented artists and makers. ivycollection.com

Elliot Anderson made an impressive start to his England career, starting against Andorra in a 2-0 win in a World Cup Qualifier, and drawing praise from former Reds midfielder Roy Keane. Morgan Gibbs-White also made an appearance from the bench.
As the Women's Super League restarted following a successful summer for the Lionesses, Forest Women fell to a 2-1 defeat in their WSL 2 opening game to Newcastle at the City Ground. There was no men’s game this weekend, but Forest added Oleksandr Zinchenko, Dilane Bakwa, and Cuiabano on transfer deadline day.

Mansfield fell to a 2-0 defeat at Wycombe in League Two on Saturday. Ryan Sweeney striking the crossbar was the Stags’ best effort.
🐦 Notts County
A rare fungal disease affecting the pitch put Notts’ home game against Fleetwood in jeopardy, but the game thankfully went ahead. Matthew Dennis’ 6th goal of the season secured a 1-0 win.

2025 Playoff Champions Nottingham Panthers prepare for a new ice hockey season this week, starting with the Challenge Cup against the Cardiff Devils at home.

Reigning British Superbike Champion Kyle Ryde won three races at Donington Park last week, extending his Championship lead going into the final rounds of the season. Ryde was born in Mansfield and resides in Jacksdale.
