News 🗞
❤️ Locked in: Last August, Severn Trent removed lovelocks from the Wilford Suspension Bridge due to safety concerns with the bridge’s structure. Now, it has teamed up with Nottingham City Council, Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham, working with their architecture students, to create a shortlist of design ideas, with one of these coming to life. The designs have been shared and your feedback will be collated before design is chosen. stwater.co.uk
🌊 Building bridges: The Waterside Bridge, which spans the River Trent in Nottingham, has officially opened. The 87m Waterside Bridge, which connects the city to Lady Bay, was built in Hucknall and lifted into place in November. The crossing opened to pedestrians and cyclists on Tuesday and a newly widened and surfaced riverside footpath on the south side of the river has also reopened. bbc.co.uk
