Any fans of Virgin River? This six-bedroom home in Ratcliffe-on-Soar is very much giving us that from the outside, with its picturesque location on the water. Head inside and you’ll find a contemporary interior with an open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen. It even has a sleek wood-burning stove. We also love the master bedroom with its hotel-style ensuite complete with a walk-in shower. Outside there are raised beds for growing veg, as well as a winding path for leisurely walks. The guide price is £800k, and it’s marketed by HoldenCopley, West Bridgford. rightmove.co.uk

⛪ Help required: Millions of pounds in repair works at Southwell Minster are needed urgently to prevent it from closing, according to church figures. A Grade I listed monument, it requires £20m of remedial work, a letter to congregation members said, with the cathedral’s roof leaking and houses in its estate deemed unfit for people to live in. The Very Reverend Stephen Evans said a backlog of repairs to the estate means ‘delay isn’t an option.’ bbc.co.uk
