Notts Going On — The Restaurant Tour and the Robin Hood International Improv Festival
Exciting theatre, foodie fun, a beautiful home in Beeston, and more...
Hello and welcome to Notts Going On — your weekly guide with events, property, news, and more.
I’m excited to announce that I’m going to be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon again on September 28! I’ve been training this past year to get (slightly) quicker and (much) stronger. I’ll be raising money for Emmanuel House, which is a homelessness charity here in Notts. I’d really appreciate any donations — thanks so much in advance. justgiving.com

Scores on the Doors 🏆
🌳 Nottingham Forest
Forest went into the international break on the end of a heavy 3-0 home defeat to West Ham, with Forest never really looking like taking much from the game before three late goals from the under pressure Hammers. Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson will be on England duty in the next fortnight, before a run of fixtures that include Forest’s first European game of the season against Real Betis. The Conference League draw also set up a rematch of the 1979 European Cup final against Swedish side Malmö FF.
🦌 Mansfield Town
The Stags made a fine account of themselves in their 2-0 defeat to Premier League Everton, a result that ended their participation in the EFL Cup, before a 1-1 draw in League One with Lincoln City. Mansfield fell behind early before Lincoln had a player sent off and, despite a late barrage following Nathan Moriah-Walsh’s equaliser, were only able to claim a point.
🐦 Notts County
Notts County came from behind against unbeaten Tranmere Rovers, winning 2-1 away from home with goals from Matthew Dennis and Kellan Gordon securing a first away win of the season in League Two.
🏏 Cricket
The Trent Rockets fell to a 26 run defeat in the Men's Hundred final to the Oval Invincibles at Lords. The Invincibles equalled the record for the highest score in a men's Hundred final and despite Marcus Stoinis’ 64, the Rockets didn't really threaten to chase that total down. The Southern Brave won the Women's Hundred, with a team featuring Grace Ballinger, Ella Claridge, and Lucy Higham of The Blaze.
