10 things to do in Nottingham this June
By Eve Smallman
1. Strawberry Picking
When: Now until the strawberries run out (open seven days a week)
Where: Nottinghamshire 'Pick Your Own' Farm, Southwell
How much: £5pp, £8pp premium
While this farm is home to pumpkin picking in autumn, in summer it’s all about strawberry picking. Gather the family and pick delicious fresh fruit, which you can use for jams, baking, or even just general snacking. The ticket entry includes the first punnet of strawberries picked, which is either standard-sized for £5pp tickets or extra-large for £8pp tickets. While you’re there, you can also keep fuelled up with hot drinks and light bites from the Little Schnauzer Coffee Company.
Do if: You’re looking for a wholesome day out with the kids.

It’s time to dust off your cosplay, as the East Midlands’ largest pop culture event is heading to the Motorpoint Arena once again. This year’s guest line-up is seriously star-studded, with Harry Potter’s Warwick Davis, Doctor Who’s Anita Dobson, and Robin Hood’s Jonas Armstrong all set to make appearances. You can also shop merch and memorabilia at the trader stands and watch panels with Q&As and script readings.

3. Nottingham Restaurant Week
When: June 2-8
Where: Various venues around Nottingham
How much: Deal prices from £10pp-£30pp, tours £33pp
There are so many incredible restaurants around Nottingham, and many of them are serving up delicious deals during this week. I recommend downloading the It’s in Nottingham app, as it’s easy to see on here what offers are on where (you can see the full list on the site, though). Most of the food tours have sold out or are down to their last tickets (apart from the Pizza Pilgrimage on June 7), but you can join the waitlists just in case a spot comes up.
Do if: You’d like an excuse to treat yourself and eat out.

Sneinton Market is a brilliant, vibrant spot, and it’s even better with a fun, festival atmosphere. It’s advised to wear comfortable clothes, as there will be activities to participate in throughout the day. You can also keep fuelled up with treats from the healthy food stalls.
