Halloween events in Nottingham — 8 spooktacular things to do
Family-friendly activities, scary adult events, and more…
Looking for the best Halloween events in Nottingham? Whether you love a sprinkle of ghoulish fun or being seriously scared, our county has plenty on offer.
I’ve rounded up a range of different ones, splitting the guide out into two sections — family-friendly and adult. Warehouse escapes, spooky films, and ghost stories are just some of the fun activities I’ve found. Many of the family ones you can still enjoy without little ones in tow, so it’s worth looking through the whole list.
If you’re looking for things to do in October that will get you into the spooky spirit, these are all worth checking out. For more autumn events in Nottingham, sign up to The Notts Edit to receive our articles in your inbox.

Family friendly Halloween events in Nottingham
1. Halloween Outdoor Cinema
When: October 25-28
Where: Wollaton Hall, Nottingham
How much: £16.98pp standard, £24.64pp premium
The dramatic silhouette of Wollaton Hall is the perfect backdrop for watching a movie in the dark. There will be four films across the different days — The Lost Boys (October 25), Hocus Pocus (October 26), The Nightmare Before Christmas (October 27), and Scream (October 28) — so choose carefully depending on who you have with you or how easily scared you are. You can bring your own picnic, and there will be hot food and refreshments on site too.
Do if: You want to gather friends and family for a fun film night without having to do all the hosting yourself.
2. Halloween By Torchlight
When: October 25-27
Where: White Post Farm, Newark
How much: £10.50pp
Pack your torches and head down to the farm for an evening of tricks and treats. Kids will receive a free pumpkin to carve on the night, while adults will be given a hot drinks voucher, so they can enjoy a lovely beverage while wandering around. There will also be marshmallow roasting to warm you up even more. It’s worth noting that October 25-26 dates are for families, while October 27 is for adults only. Plus, on October 19 there’s a dog-friendly version of the event, while on October 29 there’s a SEN version with a more relaxing atmosphere.
Do if: You love doing cute and wholesome activities, whether it’s Halloween or not.
3. Kids’ Ghost Hunter Tours
When: October 25-27, October 30-November 2
Where: National Justice Museum, Nottingham
How much: £6.95pp adult, £7.95pp child
If there’s something strange in the neighbourhood, who you gonna call? Well, you’ve got to call yourself, gather the family and then go to the National Justice Museum. You’ll be helping the overworked ghost hunter track down pesky ghouls who are causing a whole lot of mayhem. Each tour will also be filled with craft activities and spooky games, so you get plenty of value for the ticket price.
Do if: You’re in town over half-term and are looking for a thrilling way to round off the day (each session starts at 5pm!).

4. Tricker Treater Maze
When: October 25-29
Where: Notts Maze, Arnold
How much: £12.50pp adult, £10.50pp child
Solve the amazing maze at this delightful Maize Farm, where you’ll be able to follow a spooky scavenger hunt and a word search as you work your way through. Once you’ve done this you can then spend some time doing pumpkin carving, hearing spooky stories around the fire, and taking part in seasonal crafts. Each event runs from 10am-2pm with the last entry at 1pm, so this is one you’ll want to plan for in advance.
Do if: You want the family to enjoy some fresh air and exercise over half term (while still having fun, too!).

5. Little Bop Halloween
When: October 27
Where: Binks Yard, Nottingham
How much: From £16.50pp adult, from £14.30pp child
This mini-festival is set to be jam-packed with entertainment for little ones. Sparkling shows will include Dracula aerial acts and fabulous fire, while activities will include face painting and workshops. As well as this, you can jump on bouncy castles, ride a rodeo bull, and dance at a silent disco (so, plenty to tire everyone out!). There are two ticket types — one for the morning session (10am-12.30pm) and one for the afternoon session (1.15-3.45pm) — so you can pick whichever suits you and your child.
Do if: You’re looking for a memorable way to celebrate the spooky season with younger children.

6. Outbreak Nottingham
When: October 12-November 3
Where: The James Alexander Warehouse and Binks Yard
How much: £24.45pp
This has to be the most unique Halloween event in Nottingham (and possibly one of the most unique in the country!). You’ll have 60 minutes to make it through the scare maze in this disused warehouse that was formerly a Boots building. Afterwards, you can relax and enjoy street food, fairground games, and drinks at Binks. If you do want to go with little ones, there will be special family-friendly experiences on the weekend dates from 2-5pm.
Do if: You want to be genuinely frightened this Halloween.

7. Victorian Condemned
When: October 25-26, October 30-November 2
Where: National Justice Museum, Nottingham
How much: £15pp
Find out more about the chilling true crimes that landed Victorian people in the National Justice Museum’s gaol during this fascinating event. You’ll stand in the docks, visit the dark cells, and then go to the courtyard where the gallows loom (eek!). Each ticket includes a free arrival drink, including beer, wine and soft drinks, to set you up properly before you start. This is over 18s only, but there is a child-friendly event at the museum which is also listed in this guide.
Do if: You love ghost stories — especially the ones that are actually real.

8. Groovebox Halloween Church of Doom
When: October 26
Where: Pitcher and Piano, Nottingham
How much: From £24.75pp
Legendary DJ and Brooklyn house artist Todd Terry will be spinning discs and creating all the vibes at Pitcher and Piano, along with Groovebox’s resident DJs. You can expect five hours of raving, Halloween decor, and an electric atmosphere inside one of Nottingham’s most remarkable venues. It says to dress to impress, so head to Luvyababes (other fancy dress shops available) and don your best ghoulish garms.
Do if: Your idea of a good time at Halloween is dancing the night away (more than just doing the Monster Mash).
