1. Easter Wine Pairing 🍷
When: March 28
Where: The Harley Cafe, Worksop
How much: £35pp
If you're hosting Sunday lunch for the holiday, you can find the perfect wines to pair with it at this sophisticated evening. Award-winning sommelier Bert Blaize will talk through the curated selection of Easter wines, which will be paired up with seasonal foods including Welbeck Farm Shop lamb and cheddar. Guests can also get 10% off all wines after the event, in case you find one you love. The Welbeck Farm Shop is also hosting an Easter Food Market March 29-30 and April 1 at Welbeck (more info here), in case you want to try more seasonal goodies.
Do if: You'd rather grab a glass of wine than a chocolate Easter egg.
2. Eventing Spring Carnival 🥚🐎🎡
When: March 29-31
Where: Thoresby Park, Newark
How much: £10/20pp adult ticket, £15 Easter Sunday family ticket
Roll up, roll up for this Easter-themed carnival. It will have face painters, circus performers, a bouncy castle, and even dog and car shows. Meanwhile, the Lycetts Grantham Cup will take centre stage, with horse riders hoping to catch the eye of Paris Olympic officials. Note the £15 ticket covers two adult tickets, parking, and two Easter egg hunt tickets on Sunday.
Do if: You want to entertain the whole family.
3. Easter Adventures 🎡👣
When: March 29-April 14
Where: Clumber Park, Worksop
How much: Trails free-£3, park entry £5pp adult and £2.50pp child
Clumber Park is one of the best places for a spring walk around Nottinghamshire thanks to its seasonal blooms and beautiful scenery, making it an idyllic spot for Easter activities. The family trail is designed to keep little ones entertained, with crazy golf, a coconut shy, and sack races, while the escape trail is aimed at older children, where they can solve clues and find hidden objects. Both of these trails are £3 and include a chocolate egg. There is also a dog trail which is free and includes a Forthglade treat for pups at the end.
Do if: You have kids of all different ages to keep busy this Easter.
4. Easter Clay Creations Workshop 🎨
When: March 30
Where: Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, Edwinstowe
How much: £25pp
We do love scoffing chocolate eggs, but the problem with them is they just don't seem to last very long. Instead, why not create an Easter-themed piece of pottery which you can keep forever? With the help of British Art Prize nominee Sarah Brabbin, you'll sculpt, mould, and shape an adorable nature-inspired creation. All the materials will be provided and you'll be able to take home your make on the day, too. This event is aimed at adults and all under 18s will need to be accompanied.
Do if: You're looking for a mindful activity to try this Easter.
5. Easter Fun Day 🥚🏓🎨
When: March 31
Where: National Ice Centre, Nottingham
How much: Activities free, entry £11pp adults, £10pp juniors
This jam-packed day of events is filled with plenty to keep the family entertained. Off-the-ice fun includes free activities such as a shooting cage, table tennis, garden games and arts and crafts. Oh, and yes — there will be an egg hunt, too. To finish off the whole day, there will be the Candyland Disco between 2.30pm-4.30pm, where bright-coloured clothes are much encouraged. Tickets for this are £12pp for adults and free for children.
Do if: You're looking for an active activity to get involved with.
6. Egg-citing Easter Egg Hunt 🥚👣
When: April 5-7
Where: Green's Windmill, Sneinton
How much: £5 per child
We love the fact you can get to a gorgeous picturesque windmill by walking just 10 minutes outside the city centre. It's the perfect place to spend a spring day hunting down Easter eggs, which will be scattered throughout the windmill, science centre, millyard, and community garden. At the end, you will get a bumper prize pack for your efforts. Entry is free on-site, with the fee just being for the Easter egg hunt itself.
Do if: You're in town with the kids and want to take them on an Easter adventure.
7. Easter Family Saturday 🎨
When: April 6
Where: National Civil War Centre, Newark
How much: £8pp adult, £4pp child, free for Newark and Sherwood residents
Dive into a day of fun crafts, with play-dough hot cross buns (don't make us eat one!), paper bag crafts, and even Easter bunny ears ready to be made at the National Civil War Centre. From 11am-1pm artist Tory Hayward will also be hosting a Pysanky egg decorating workshop, which is a traditional Ukrainian activity. You can even explore the galleries via the Easter egg hunt trail, where you'll have to decode the secret word.
Do if: You want to get stuck into Easter crafts without making your own home messy.
