There’s nothing more satisfying on a cold day than ducking inside a coffee shop and wrapping your hands around a hot cup of Joe. 7 cosy places to grab a coffee in and around Nottingham
1. The Oat Shed
Where: Main Street, Kimberley, NG16 2NG
With a luxe Scandi interior and beautiful brunches, this is the place to go if you want to drink your coffee while indulging in a touch of chicness. As well as having all the classic coffee options, it also has a menu of decadent hot chocolates. Think Biscoff white hot chocolate and Terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate. This place is walk-in only, so if you want to get a seat, you might want to head out early.
Visit if: You want to take Insta photos of your coffee and brunch.
2. Waterstones Nottingham
Where: Bridlesmith Gate, Nottingham, NG1 2GR
Sure, you can walk out of Waterstones with your new book in hand — but why not take a moment to enjoy your new purchase by stopping at the cafe, instead? It often has seasonal drinks such as black forest hot chocolates, as well as coffees and numerous tea blends. It also has a great view of Bridlesmith Gate from the window seats, making it a fun spot for people-watching.
Visit if: The scent of books entices you as much as the scent of coffee.

3. Dispatch
Where: Goose Gate, Nottingham, NG1 1FF
A gorgeous spot nestled in the middle of Hockley, Dispatch’s colourful decor is just as joyful as its eye-catching exterior. It regularly hosts guest coffee blends, for those looking to try different coffee flavours. While we love a strong brew, our favourite drink on the menu has to be the Spanish latte, which is made with condensed milk. If your sweet tooth needs more than a sugary beverage, the counter is also always stacked high with pastries, cookies, brownies, and more.
Visit if: The Wes Anderson aesthetic is very much your thing.

4. Gilt
Where: Central Avenue, West Bridgford, NG2 5GQ
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to coffee shops in West Bridgford, but this is our go-to spot when we’re in the area. It has expansive breakfast, lunch, and mains menus, as well as afternoon tea. For £6.75 you can delve into a homemade cake and an americano or a cup of tea. For those bringing little ones, they even do frothy milk babyccinos. Not in the mood for a coffee? The cocktail menu has classics like mojitos and margaritas, as well as some surprises.
Visit if: You’re looking for a delicious meal as well as a coffee.
5. Crimson Tree
Where: Mansfield Road, Sherwood, NG5 2FX
Sherwood High Street has a host of great charity shops to explore — but hey, shopping can get exhausting. This cafe is bright and quirky and will make you feel like you’re sitting in someone’s (beautiful) home in the best way. The bakery is where it especially shines, with everything from French and Portuguese pastries to great British favourites. It also has a brilliant range of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Oh, and it also does breakfast, lunch, and mezze plates.
Visit if: You want to sit down at a warm and inviting cafe away from the city centre.

6. 200 Degrees
Where: Everywhere (but our favourite one is Flying Horse Walk, Nottingham, NG1 2HN)
200 Degrees is all over the country now, but it is Nottingham-based and still has its roastery on Meadow Lane. While there are three 200 Degrees in the city centre, our top pick is the 17th-century building off of Old Market Square. The dark wooden panelling and intricate detailing make it feel snug and inviting. It has lots of sized tables and seats, so whether you’re cosying up as a couple or bringing the whole family, there’s room for all.
Visit if: You want to quickly escape the hustle and bustle of town.
7. Blend
Where: Sneinton Market, Nottingham, NG1 1DW
Sneinton Market has grown into a vibrant, creative place to hang out, and Blend is very much at the heart of that. Whether you sit indoors in the glass-panelled cafe or outdoors under the wooden canopy, it’s a very relaxed place to meet. The coffee is provided by Stewarts, which roasts right next door to it. We haven’t even mentioned the best part — it has an extensive grilled cheese menu. The Notts Monsieur with smoked applewood, ham, tomato chilli jam, and Rarebit sauce sounds incredible.
Visit if: You like the option of drinking your coffee outside as well as inside.
