5 of the best firework and Bonfire Night events around Nottingham
By Eve Smallman
1. Fireworks Night
When: November 1-2
Where: Trent Bridge, West Bridgford
How much: £12pp adult, £6pp child, £7.50 family ticket
The seated, open-air Trent Bridge is hosting its famous fireworks special once again on two dates, including a Halloween extravaganza on the Saturday. There will be 19 street food traders, including Neopolitan pizza from Pizzamici, loaded fries from Disco Fries, and cheese toasties from Big Melt. This event is often a sell-out, so you might want to be quick in booking.
Do if: You’re looking for an all-encompassing display that you can easily access from Nottingham city centre.
2. Cinema in the Sky
When: November 1
Where: Nottingham Racecourse
How much: From £14pp adult, £8pp child, £40 family ticket, £5 car parking
Bringing together cinema and fireworks for a twsit on a classic display, Cinema in the Sky promises to light up Nottingham Racecourse. There will be fairground rides and food stalls and, for a more luxe experience, you can upgrade to the VIP ticket (£28pp adult, £13pp child) to watch indoors. Or, go all-out with the blockbuster dining experience (£45pp adult, £5pp child) with a meal of sausage and mash and sticky toffee pudding, as well as balcony views.
Do if: You’re looking for a themed display for the family, with plenty of treats on offer.
3. Bonfire Night
When: November 2
Where: Norwood Park, Southwell
How much: From £14pp adult, £6.50pp child, £38 family ticket
The elegant Norwood Park is a fabulous venue for an evening of fireworks. Fire-dancers will warm up the crowd at 6pm, before the big display at 6.45pm. You can also upgrade to a hospitality ticket (£25pp adult, £15pp child, £70 family ticket) which allows you private access to the house and terrace, a private bar, and a welcome drink on arrival.
Do if: You’d love to go to a sophisticated bonfire night display.
4. Bonfire Night at Belvoir Castle
When: November 7
Where: Belvoir Castle, Grantham
How much: From £15pp adult, from £7pp child
To see a castle with fireworks, you don’t have to travel all the way to Disney — simply drive to Belvoir Castle, which is a 45-minute drive away from Nottingham city centre. This year its fireworks display will be bigger than ever, thanks to the larger Ladies Field location and fireworks by the award-winning MLE Pyrotechnics. Plus, there will be a crackling bonfire, food from hand-picked vendors, and live music.
Do if: You’d like to see an enchanting fireworks display with all the wow-factor.
5. Bonfire Night
When: November 8
Where: The Garage Chilwell, Beeston
How much: Free entry
The Garage Chilwell is known for its brilliant markets — but it also hosts a mean knees-up, too. Its annual Bonfire event will be filled with cosy eats like hog roast, as well as desserts. While this event won’t have any fireworks, huddling around the Scandi fire pits and enjoying the live band will still be plenty a treat for the senses. The Garage is easily accessible via tram — simply hop off at the High Road stop.
Do if: You don’t fancy the noise of fireworks, but you do still fancy Bonfire fun.
